Guides Open GigaJSON

Every object and list becomes a box, linked to the place it sits in, so you can see the shape of the data at a glance. Open and close branches, zoom and pan, click a value to inspect it, and export the picture as PNG or SVG.

How to use it

  1. Paste JSON or open a file.
  2. The graph appears. Click + or − on a row to open or close a branch, scroll to move around, and hold ⌘/Ctrl while scrolling to zoom.
  3. Export it as PNG or SVG, or switch to the tree, table or query views.

Private, and made for big files

This tool runs in your browser, in a background worker: nothing you paste or open is uploaded, and nothing is kept after you leave. JSON and XML input can be up to 1 GB, depending on available memory. Processing runs in a background worker; large analyses can take a minute or more. If your connection drops while you're here, the tool keeps working. When one tool isn't enough, GigaJSON opens your data with a tree, a table, JSONPath/JMESPath/jq queries, transforms, diff and history.

Questions

Does it work with large files?

Yes. A large document opens one level deep, and no more than 300 boxes are drawn at a time, so you open the branches you need. The file itself can be hundreds of megabytes.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The tool runs in your browser, in a background worker. Nothing you paste or open goes to a server, and nothing is kept after you leave the page.

Can I export the graph?

Yes, as SVG (sharp at any size) or PNG, in the light or dark theme you're using.
